International Christian University (ICU / 国際基督教大学 - Kokusai Kirisutokyō Daigaku) is a world-renowned, prestigious private liberal arts university located on an idyllic 153-acre wooded campus in Mitaka, Tokyo. Established in 1949 under the joint initiative of Japanese and North American educators in the aftermath of World War II, ICU pioneered Japanese-English bilingual education in Japan and operates on the American liberal arts collegiate model. With a unified College of Liberal Arts offering 31 distinct majors across humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and interdisciplinary fields, ICU grants students the academic freedom to explore multiple disciplines, choose single or double majors, and participate in intensive dialogue-oriented tutorials with a low student-to-faculty ratio.
