Visit Official WebsiteThe Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX; Danish: Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole) is Scandinavia's leading specialized higher education and research institution dedicated to journalism, photojournalism, visual communication, corporate communication, and media production. Founded in 1971 as the Danish School of Journalism (DJH) and expanded in 2008 through an institutional merger with the Graphic Arts Institute of Denmark (Den Grafiske Højskole), DMJX educates over 3,200 professional bachelor's, master's, and international exchange students across two state-of-the-art campuses in Aarhus and Copenhagen. DMJX is internationally renowned for its practice-based pedagogical model that integrates investigative reporting, critical ethics, media business strategy, artificial intelligence media tools, and high-impact visual storytelling. The school operates the world-renowned Photojournalism Department, whose graduates regularly win World Press Photo and Pulitzer prizes, as well as the Erasmus Mundus Master in Journalism, Media and Globalisation (Mundus Journalism), delivered in partnership with Aarhus University, the University of Amsterdam, City St George’s University of London, and Charles University Prague. Students work in live television studios, digital editing suites, audio podcast facilities, darkrooms, and newsrooms equipped with industry-standard hardware and software. Through close industry partnerships with Denmark's national broadcasting corporations (DR, TV 2) and international publishers, DMJX ensures unparalleled career outcomes, paid 12-to-18-month media apprenticeships, and global leadership in democratic media innovation.
